A queer history of outsiders

My name is Andrew F. Giles, I'm a writer and online educator. I left cities after decades of hard work, breakdowns and cyclical behaviours. I always felt like I was in the wrong place. Even when I was a kid all I wanted to do was play with my toy farm and then, spend every hour I could at the stables, mucking out and doing whatever I could to ride horses. When, after a final and decisive experience, I really listened to what I needed, which was to be with animals and stewarding the land - that's what I did, and this has become strongly coloured, now, by climate emergency and the ensuing political instability that is leading us towards societal collapse.  If you want to read about my experiences, take a look at my website, where I advance my queer history of outsiders, or a recent article I wrote for Dark Mountain Project. Because of my life as a gay man in traditional urban settings, and my turn to a commitment as a queer steward of the land during climate emergency, I offer up Greyhame Farm as a safe space for queer folk and their allies - for the sweet freaks of my own community who don't fit anywhere else.
